Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao Meets with Greek Parliament President Benaki
2007-04-29 00:00

On April 17, 2007, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao met with Anna Psarouda Benaki, President of the Greek Parliament at the Great Hall of the People.

During the meeting, Wen said Sino-Greek ties are currently at a stage of sound development with frequent high-level exchanges, close legislative communication and rapidly growing trade. As this year marked the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations and the "Year of Greek Culture", the two nations should take the opportunity to continue expanding and deepening cooperation, especially on economy, culture and the Olympic Games, so as to promote bilateral relations, Wen said.

Benak fully agreed with Wen's comments and suggestions on bilateral ties and said Greece would like to actively advance EU-China ties and further carry out pragmatic cooperation between both sides at multiple levels to push for in-depth development of comprehensive strategic partnership.
