|Li Keqiang Holds Talks with Prime Minister Stefan Lofven of Sweden|
On the afternoon of June 27, 2017, Premier Li Keqiang held talks at Dalian State Guesthouse with Prime Minister Stefan Lofven of Sweden, who was in China for the 2017 Summer Davos Forum.
Stefan Lofven first expressed condolences for the high-mountain collapse occurred in Sichuan Province, which caused casualties. Li Keqiang extended gratitude to Sweden for its condolences and said that China is sparing no efforts in searching and rescuing the missing people, and is hurried to well carry out follow-up disaster-relief work.
Li Keqiang expressed that Sweden was the first Western country to establish diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, and bilateral relations enjoy a sustained, stable and healthy development, with new progress constantly achieved from practical cooperation in various fields. China is willing to, together with Sweden, uphold the principle of exchanges featuring mutual respect, equal treatment, inclusiveness and mutual learning, carry forward traditional friendship and expand common interests, in a bid to benefit the two peoples with more tangible cooperation outcomes.
Li Keqiang pointed out that China stands ready to, together with Sweden, align development strategies, speed up the advancement of cooperation in innovation, deepen cooperation in traditional fields, expand cooperation in emerging fields, and discuss the joint exploitation of cooperation in third-party markets, in a bid to better achieve mutual benefit and win-win results. Both sides should expand exchanges in culture and education as well as cooperation in tourism, and enhance mutual understanding and bilateral friendship between the two peoples. Both sides should also intensify communication and coordination in international affairs, push forward the international community to earnestly abide by the UN Charter and a series of universally recognized norms of international relations, and further improve international governance system, so as to jointly safeguard world peace and stability.
Li Keqiang stressed that Sweden is China's important cooperation partner in Europe, especially in North Europe. It is hoped that Sweden could play a positive role in pushing China-EU and China-Nordic cooperation for more outcomes.
Stefan Lofven expressed that the Swedish side is gratified with the current sound development of Sweden-China relations. Highly appreciating China's important role in international affairs, the Swedish side stands ready to further expand bilateral practical cooperation, and strengthen communication and coordination in multilateral affairs with China, so as to push Sweden-China relations and cooperation for greater development.
Both sides also exchanged in-depth views on international and regional issues of common concern.
After the talks, Li Keqiang and Stefan Lofven jointly witnessed the signing of multiple bilateral cooperation documents in quality inspection and customs.
