The UN Security Council has adopted the resolution on DPRK missile launching unanimously on July 16th, Beijing Time.

China is deeply concerned about the newly emerged complicated factors on the Korean Peninsula, and opposes any action that may lead to complication and tension on the Peninsula. China is committed to maintain peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, supports the solution of relevant issues on the Peninsula through dialogue and negotiation, and has all along urged various parties to keep calm and exercise restraint. We have taken part in relevant consultation of the Security Council in a responsible and constructive attitude, and made tremendous efforts for the proper solution of the issue.

We hope relevant parties can take this opportunity to make joint endeavor, create conditions, resume the Six-Party Talks process at an early date, and maintain peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia. This is the common aspiration of the international community and the correct direction for our efforts.
