Foreign Ministry Spokesman Liu Jianchao briefed the media in Beijing on August 23 that, leaders of countries including Afghanistan, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Egypt, Germany, Kenya, Latvia, Mali, Mauritius, Micronesia, Myanmar, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Seychelles, Tanzania, the US, Vietnam and Zambia, have called or wrote to leaders of China to express their consolation, after learning that some coastal provinces in southeast China were attacked by strong typhoon. Chinese leaders have expressed appreciation for their friendly affection and consolation on behalf of the Chinese people. |
