Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Jiangyu's Comments on Bush's Remarks on Sino-U.S Economic Relation and Trade
2007-02-04 00:00

Q: On January 30, in addressing the Caterpillar Company of Illinois on his economic policy, U.S President Bush spoke positively of the US economic relations with China. What's your comment?

A: President Bush's address displays that he values and supports the Sino-U.S economic cooperation and the bilateral relations. We appreciate his comments.

Sino-U.S economic cooperation and trade are mutually complementary and beneficial with rapid development. The cooperation has brought great fortune to people of both countries, and vigorously accelerated the economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region and the world. Healthy and steady development of Sino-U.S relation serves the fundamental interest of the people in both countries. We stand ready to work with the U.S in resolutely translating the important consensus reached by President Hu Jintao and Bush into real actions by strengthening dialogue, building up mutual trust, expanding consensus, deepening cooperation and properly handling differences so as to comprehensively advance constructive cooperation between China and the U.S and better benefit both countries and people all over the world.
