Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Jiang Yu's Remarks on the UN General Assembly's Rejection of the Taiwan-related Proposal
2007-09-22 00:00

On September 21 New York time, the 62nd UN General Assembly adopted the General Committee's report on refusing to include the proposal of the so-called "participation of Taiwan in the UN" raised by a very few countries into the agenda of the 62nd General Assembly. It proves again that any attempt that defies the One China principle and aims at splitting China is doomed to failure. China expresses its heartfelt appreciation to all the countries that have supported China in the General Committee and the General Assembly. We urge the Taiwan authorities and those few countries that have been manipulated by Taiwan to keep pace with the trend of history and stop all activities that aim at splitting China.
