Q: According to reports, the US Defense Department admitted that four nose cones of ballistic missiles were accidentally shipped to Taiwan by its logistics in the fall of 2006, and the US is making the cones shipped back. Do you have any comment? A: We express grave concern and strong dissatisfaction with that and have made solemn representation to the US. We request the US to launch a thorough investigation, inform China of the details promptly and eliminate the negative impact and consequences arising therefrom. We urge the US again to honor its serious commitment to China in the US-China August 17 Joint Communique and stop its arm sales to Taiwan and cut off military links with the latter so as to ensure peace and stability across the Straits and the sound and stable development of China-US relations. |
