On the evening of March 17, Counsellor Ning Yi, wife of Chinese Ambassador, was invited to attend the Opening Ceremony of the Megara Agricultural Fair at Syntagma Square.
At the venue of the opening ceremony, Counsellor Ning Yi had friendly conversation with Greek Government Vice President Yiannis Dragasakis and Mr. Grigoris Stamoulis, mayor of Megara. Mr. Stamoulis thanked Counsellor Ning Yi for attending the opening ceremony, and expressed the hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China to open a wider market for the farm produce of Megara. Ning expressed congratulations on the success of the fair on behalf of Ambassador Zou Xiaoli. She stated that the Chinese Embassy was ready to strengthen exchanges with local governments of Greece and facilitate bilateral cooperation between local governments and on agriculture and farm produce.
With the company of Ms. Catherine Stamoulis, wife of the Mayor, Counsellor Ning Yi visited the booths of various farm produce, learned about the farm produce and agriculture of Megara, and had friendly chats with farmers attending the fair.
Located in the western part of the Province of Attica, Megara is a city near the Port of Piraeus and renowned for its agriculture. Main farm produce on display at the fair included olives, Pistachio, red wine, honey, eggs and products of animal husbandry. |
